The Enemy Down Below

The Past and the Present collide in a shower of colors
Startling me into thinking of a better tomorrow.
For as much as I say I am fine, my scars still itch,
due to the fire of what I've done in my past.

No matter where I look or go, you're always there,
Guiding me, shielding me from the daggers of the enemy,
An enemy that won't back down, an enemy that won't hesitate
Until I'm sitting besides him in the throne down below.

Now my present is another matter, since my birth I've been getting a beating,
but not from my parents, nor from anyone real, but from the creatures inside,
they are fighting my brain, and it decays, and I fall, fall deep down,
to a point where, no matter what happens, I still think of you, because,

No matter where I look or go, you're always there,
Guiding me, shielding me from the daggers of the enemy,
An enemy that won't back down, an enemy that won't hesitate
Until I'm sitting besides him in the throne down below.

And so I decide, with a tear in my eye, to go where I hadn't gone before,
The blade glowed red as I made the cut, but it wasn't my skin I cut,
but that of the enemy that won't hesitate,
until I'm sitting besides him in the throne down below.
Now I won, the battle against the creatures in my mind,
and dethroned, the enemy down below.
